I'm in the process of finding out what activities I enjoy doing. I dabble in learning how to use Procreate because I want to create simple arts and do some colorings.
As you know, I can't draw for the life of me. I took one painting class back in high school, and that's about it. I remembered looking forward into going to that class. That class was laidback and fun.
I want to have that kind of fun again. It's a different kind of fun from hanging out with friends. Nowadays I solely get my enjoyment from screen. Netflix. YouTube.
All the other activities I'm doing besides working a full-time job are all related to further my skills to earn more money. I keep worrying about RIO of each activity I'm doing. Having goals and doing all that are good for my future ME.
However if I keep doing this, my current self is going burned out. I need to give my current self something fun to do and not through social media. Coloring and paintings to me feel like recess I had back when I was in elementary school.
Instead of indulging myself in watching Netflix after work, I took a Skillshare class. The class is called Playing with Shapes in Procreate: Illustrate a Graphic Still Life. It's taught by Sarah Beth Morgan. It's about turning photos/images to abstract illustrations using simple shapes, and then fill them with colors.
After I'm done with the class, I feel I too can create simple illustrations like that using photos I took. Thank you, Sarah, for making my day fun 😊
